Disappointing. This may sound strange, considering the vote I gave to this game, anyway that's what I feel about this game: disappointment.
The game itself is very good, it's usually funny to play, enjoyable and addictive. Although, it misses something. Something that normally Mario games have. It lacks in many little features, that makes old Mario fan don't like this game as much as the previous ones. It's less free (in terms of exploration) than previous games, especially Mario 64 and Mario World... It can be very frustrating in certain situation, especially the quest for the Blue Coins...
On the other hand, most of the game is very funny, and the missions don't annoy too much. The FLUD is a nice addition to Mario that opens to him new possibilities, but also change deeply Mario controls, even too deeply that it doesn't seem Mario anymore. Some persons like this, some others don't... It has been an innovation, but it has been partly successful... Super Mario Sunshin remains the best platformer of this generation of consoles, but you want more from a Mario game.
