This is generally a good game. It starts a new genre in PC gaming and does well to intrigue people with its colorful graphics and addictive gameplay.
If you are a fan of the tycoon series you will like this game. The gameplay, although lacking a bit of features, is lots of fun. You control a single airline and have the ability to buy/sell planes, get orders, buy your own routes, manage stocks in the bank, transport cargo,talk to competitors and more...
Graphics and sound are not really impressive, but are actually very suitable for these types of games.
The bad thing about Airline Tycoon, however, is its quite monotonous play. The first 10-20 hours are fun, and after that you don't want to play anymore, because the game has nothing to offer you. You just take orders, then skip to the next day, again take orders and so on...
Despite this, I would recommend Airline Tycoon to anyone who likes the originality and fun of the tycoon games. As for the others... I think you can make your own decision.
