A terrific action sequel. Its worth noting that the PC version has better graphics and controls, so go with that if you have a good computer.
At its core, Max Payne 2 is just like Max Payne: you dive into room in bullet time, shoot people, watch graphic novel cut-scenes. However, Max Payne 2 gives the classic original a state of the art overhaul. For starters, the graphics have been greatly improved, and rag doll physics have been added, which is always good. Enemy AI is awesome, and the interface has been improved with great additions like the ability to fire while lying on the ground.
Also, the story is much better. As much as I liked the first Max Payne, I gotta say that its story was a bit muddled and confusing, with a dozen characters getting quickly introduced and just as quickly killed. Max Payne 2, while still a bit confusing, has a great storyline, complete with the noir dialogue and time shifts that add up to a great dramatic effect.
Max Payne 2 is too short (about 10 hours) and too simple to reach the level of quality of Halo and Vice City, but its still a spectacular game that pretty much everyone should play.
GOOD: great graphics; a well-told story; physics engine is cool; same bullet time combat that made the first a classic.
