Soulcalibur is still my favorite video game of all time. Period. From the first time I saw it in the arcade as SoulEdge to it's finally apperance on the Dreamcast.
The graphics are.....Astounding. Ahead of their time for the Dreamcast platform. Playability is unreal considering you have a weapon, active blocking, and can move 360 degrees.
This game requires skill and takes away all button mashing techniques that make some other games boring after a few minutes playing.
The sound is well scored and the weapons actually sound like real weapons hitting each other.
The extras are voluminous, and add a lot to an already wonderful game. And kudos are in order for the practice mode which allows you not only to see your buttons on the screen as you hit them, but also has a feature where the computer executes a move and you can WATCH the timing necessary to pull it off.
I gave this game a 10 and would give it higher if I could. I also can't wait for SC2 on the gamecube so I can finally play Link!
