Beyond the Dark Portal continues the excellent gaming experience of Warcraft 2. The gameplay is held intact; the added features only improve the game. The concept of really strong hero units is introduced and improves the combat. The story isn't nearly as compelling in this expansion though. The saga of orcs versus humans that propelled me through the first two games falls flat. Even the rendered movies, a staple of the Warcraft series, just don't seem as cool in the expansion. If you are a fan of Warcraft though, this is a worthy chapter in the series.
