I have been a long time fan of the Command and Conquer Series, from the original, through to the sequels and the Red Alert series, I always found that the game was always advancing and consistently brought fun new gameplay and scenarios with each new game.
This latest attempt, however, was a huge let down.  I had recently played some other real time strategy game, similar to C&C and was very disappointed by the advances made in this game.  Sure, there are new units and some new options.  The graphics are nice and the cut scenes are very well done, but the gameplay fell short of the competition.
The buttons have been switched and there is no way to customize the controls.  The movement of your units is terrible, taking the long way around to get to places and running into each other too often.  Also, in fights, you must really direct the fire or you will lose way to many units.  As stated, the graphics are nice, but way behind the competition.  And the play is sometimes jerky, my computer passes the requirements by far and I do not even have it on high detail, so it seems that it is the game that is not perfectly programed.
In this version, you get to play as three different nations and the in game cut scenes are a nice add on.  The training is terrible, with only one mission which throws you right into the action.  This is fine for me, but for a new player, it is not well thought out.  The units lines are also very repetitive and get old quickly, while the story seems to just have been thrown together just to make the game as fast as possible.
Being a big fan of the series, I am very disappointed and hope the next generation is improved in gameplay and AI.
