Since this game is a few years old and I guess almost everyone who wanted to play it has, I will keep this short. Ratchet & Clank is the best platform game since Mario 64. The action is non-stop and never repetitive. The game is along with a lot of extras. It would take about 20 hours to complete the story mode, plus an extra 15 to do all the rest.
The story is simple. Your Ratchet and you are asked to help the universe. Overshadowing you is another super hero known as Qwark, who seems to get all the glory. You team up with a little robot named Clank and together go on to save the universe and become instant celebrities. In your journey you travel from planet to planet, each with its own characteristics and fight your way through to obtain the coordinates of the next planet. You get new weapons throughout the game, each one more devastating than the last.
You also get to upgrade your weapons and your health bar increases by finding hidden power ups. This game also features some great innovations, which should be brought to other platforms. It features a quick weapon switcher that lets you constant go from weapon to weapon in a simple two button pushes. As you defeat the levels, shortcuts appear to make it easier to revisit any area that you previously completed.
There are also arena battles and races, grind boots, magnetic boots, jump packs, heli-packs and you can control Clank who has the ability to control other robots. Loads of fun and a must for any platform fan.
