Purchasing this game is a no-brainer, especially if you enjoyed the SNES version of A Link to the Past. The feel and look of this port is nearly identical, and the fact that it's portable makes it even more fun! Replaying this game was one of the more satisfying experiences in gaming I can remember, as the gameplay is simply unmatched. The game holds up amazingly well, despite the fancy world of 3D graphics that has taken over gaming. Simplicity makes this game beautiful, but don't mistake that statement to mean that this game's easy!
This is a game that places emphasis on fighting enemies, to be sure, but the levels and puzzles are what sets it apart. It's accessible and not intimidating to figure out, but as you play this game you realize how clever the makers were in creating these dungeons.
This game is still a ton of fun to play and I recommend it wholeheartedly. A couple of complaints, however...
First off, Link does his little yell thing WAY too much. This wasn't in the original game, I don't think, and it could have been toned down a bit. You get used to it, but they still shouldn't have made it so frequent that you even have to get used to it. Secondly, the 4 Swords aspect looks really cool, but a lot of GBA gamers don't have little 10-year old buddies to link up with. Some of us own consoles for multiplayer gaming, and adding at least some sort of minimal single player experience for 4 Swords would be great (and frankly, I expected it at least somewhat). Still, you can't complain much because you're getting one of the greatest games ever made...to go!
