One of my favorite SNES games to this day. Whether you play by yourself or with a friend, this is a Zelda-like RPG that is fun to play and never feels tedious.
The graphics, while nothing overly impressive even at the time, are colorful and nice. The sound is one of my favorite aspects of the game. Whether it's the catchy and sometimes mystical tunes that play in the background, or the simple but effective sound effects of the magic spells, your ears will feel pleased. It all sounds fresh and original.
I really like how the game handles weapons upgrading. First, you have to upgrade your weapons by finding its orb and then forging it. Not only that, but your characters' proficiency in that weapon will limit their effectiveness with it. The only part I didn't like too much was building up magic. You normally had to cast spells from the different categories (water, fire, earth, etc...) many times before they reached the next level. This often meant you'd sit there casting the same low-cost spell over and over, just trying to build it up. I guess I could have let it come naturally while fighting enemies, but the low-cost spells were normally the least effective. Casting the useful spells meant that your magic would run out very quickly, and you would have to go back to town to replenish your magic supply too often.
Either way, with the minor complaints aside, it's still one of the most fun and charming games you can find on the SNES. Playing with a friend is even more fun, and the cooperative RPG/adventure was a very new concept at the time.
