My friends and I have a blast playing this game. Everyone gets to pick their favorite international team and duke it out in a surprisingly realistic soccer match. This is one of the very few video games that I can honestly say is just as fun to watch as it is to play (because it plays like real-life).
There are, however, some noticeable shortcomings. Here are just a few that come to mind:
- shots on goal tend to hit the posts WAY more than they do in real games. Every match has at least 2 or 3 shots bouncing off the posts.
- if you try to play two consecutive matches without changing teams or settings, the sound will get messed up. It will become intermittent, forcing you to exit all the way out and start over.
- some of the teams don't feel right at all. Despite great stats, Brazil just doesn't seem to work nearly as well as some other teams (like Italy).
Overall, a fun but imperfect game that allows you to capture the spirit of the World Cup (which is still semi-fresh in my mind).
