If you're not a super-patient gamer, I'd suggest you stay away from this game.
You will have to tap (or press the directional pad) through TONS of dialogue, and it can get quite tedious. The script is pretty good, but it doesn't keep it from being annoyingly long. Doesn't help that the text can't be rushed through because it streams at the same steady pace throughout the game.
Sometimes, you will also find yourself a bit confused as to your next task. A door that was locked just one sequence before is now unlocked, as if you were supposed to know that. Searching through everything you come across can be cumbersome.
The Good:
That being said, the game has a nice atmosphere of its own. It gives you a good sense that you're actually in this dank nasty hotel. The dialogue between characters really does a good job of showing the personalities of each individual, as well as sensing their mood, etc...
Some of the clues and puzzle-solving can be fun and satisfying. The art can be very impressive at times.
Overall:
The game was pretty well-made, and if you're in the right mood, it can be an interesting experience. At best, it can be immersive and engaging. At worst, it can be a slow and tedious game. It really depends on what kind of person you, how you're feeling at the time you play, and what part of the game you're at.
I gave the game an 8 because it does do a lot of things well. It feels like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" book at times, with your save points being the thumb-in-the-page, in case you mess up. It's definitely not for everybody, and I still have mixed feelings about it myself. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I roll my eyes at it.
