A very solid FPS, Call of Duty is more like an update to the excellent Medal of Honor: Allied Assault game than a brand new title. That shouldn't be surprising as new developer Infinity Ward is composed at core of the same crew that created MoH for EA.
So it's expected that it has loads of atmosphere, excellent gameplay and a solid multiplayer mode. What it doesn't have is innovation, but hey, you can't have everything.
