Madden NFL 2005 is the current game in a long and beloved seriesof excellent football games. And though ESPN 2K5 may try to steal the glory, Madden is for now, still the king of football games.
Gameplay 9/10
The controls for this game are simply enough that anybody can pick this up and start playing it. The gameplay really excells because after you call your play, you can call audibles to adjus to your liking which is very useful. The Franchise mode is indeed very deep and very entertaining, you can take a team and make it from a dud to a Super Bowl winning team! I like all the depth but into this mode as it simulates the running of a team the best from any football game.
Graphics 8/10
The graphics are nice, but not so much to deserve a 'wow', because the players seem a little blocky, but when there are so many characters on screen, I didn't expect perfection. But in my opinion, most players don't really care about graphics when playing a football game, they care about the football, like i do. So the graphics aren't a big issue.
Replayability 10/10
If the Franchise mode doesn't make you come back for more, as it has done for me, the online play/multiplayer games will make you come back for more. Franchise has several things to do during the pre-season, regular season, and post-season, sothe franchise mode should keep you entertained for hours on end.
Sounds/Music 8/10
The music really is't anything special, some songs I don't think football fans would like, but not bad overall. The sounds on the field during gameplay is very detailed, with fan reactions and players expressions as well, done very well. The EA sports radio is nothing special
Overall 10/10
My personal favorite sports game untill '06 comes out. This game has alot to offer, includeding a tutorial to help you out early on, even if you have not played a Madden game before, all the help needed is included, so buy this game if sports is your thing
