Note:This Review is for the Japanese version of Virtua Fighter 4:Evolution.
Ok, Lets start with the graphics here:
All in all, the graphics are great. One of the best looking fighting games on the PS2 currently. Characters are very detailed, aswell as the background graphics. Its definitely a fine piece of art!
Now, on with the sound:
The music is good, the sound effects is also very very good. Punches and kicks now have 'real' contact sounds, not like those old days where the sound of fighting is in 2D.
Well, the Gameplay:
Sega has changed the Kumite mode from VF4 to a new designed "Quest" mode. In this mode, players get to choose their favourite characters and compete for the championship. Players can also win money from Tournaments in Quest mode in order to customize their chosen character. Sometimes, players can also win prizes from unique stages.
Alrite, now with the controls:
The controls are very well done! Its fantastic, the buttons responds to whatever players press. But don't get too excited, as sometimes your fingers might get bruised up!
GET it of Rent it??
Well, I would say... GO GET IT!! Its one of the best figting games on the PS2! Almost everything is perfect on VF4:E, just get it even if you don't like fighting games. This game does not deserve a RENT! IT deserves a "get it"!
