Way back in 1998, Konami's Hideo Kojima realeased a blast shocking stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid. In fact, many gamers consider it as the best stealth game ever made. Now, after 5 years, Konami remake MGS into Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Without further ado, here is my review of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Graphics:
Combining the graphics power of the Gamecube console and MGS2, the graphics in Twin Snakes are awesome! In fact, its even better than MGS2 itself. All of the characters are greatly designed and they are very detailed. Heck, I can almost find no jaggies on them. The new cutscenes are top-notch and breathtaking. Backgrounds are significantly better than MGS2, the water, electricity and the blood as well are improved. Double BIG thumbs up to Konami on the graphics department
Sound:
Voice-acting is great, and Snake still sounds like a dork sometimes(which is very funny). Yes, they redo almost all the voice-acting from the original MGS and it still souds great. The music is oustanding and new, they fit each part of the game.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is actually the same as MGS2. You can go into FPS mode now and shoot things which are impossible in the first MGS game. No new moves though, but its still great as ever.
Controls:
Well, the GC controls on FPS mode are a little twitchy at times. In fact, it isn't as good as the PS2 controls. But hey, you will get use to it very soon.
BUY iT or renT IT??
Get this game no matter what! Its an awesome remake of the original MGS. I can say, this is one of the best Gamecube game ever! Even if you have played MGS, get Twin Snakes too. End of my review and I hope it did help anyone to get this game as soon as possible.
