Crimson skies is one of those games that came out of nowhere. I heard noting about it until about 3 days after it was realeased. I heard it was amazing so I had to pick it up.
Gameplay - The story is set around the Great Depression in a post anarchic world that has been split up into small subdivisions compared to what we see in life today. To get around you have to fly in either your own plane or a zepplin. So this leads to space piracy and you just happrn to be one of those pirates trying to make money and get revenge.
So, you get to fly planes. This can be difficult in many games based solely on flying, but here the control scheme is set up perfectly so that you can jump right in and have no problems. You will have a primary and secondary attack with the secondary atack being the stonger won and also the only one that is limited. You get to choose from a variety of planes, all with different weapons(some very different). You can upgrade planes through collecting upgrade tokens from either completing missions or exploring and finding hidden ones.
You'll also need money to help repair your plane during missions. You get money by either completing missions or being a pirate. Being a pirate you can attack unknowing citizen planes and zepplins and steal their money. Oh how much fun that is.
The missions can vary from destroy this certain zeppling to protect this peron from attacking pirates. The missions are varied enough to keep you interested, but not so much that the storyline get confusing.
Graphics - Graphics aren't the best, but are good enough to make you know it is an Xbox game. The in game graphics look good enough, but there really isn't anything that special that blows you away. The cut scenes are much better than the in game. This is where you'll be pleased.
Sound - Very good here. The music is good enough to keep you into the game. It isn't anything you'll remember, but it's plenty good enough. The voice acting is actually very good despite very poor lines that are said.
Replay Factor - This ends up being another in a fast growing linrary of Xbox games that can be played for a very long time. The offline and online multiplayer are great. This is easily the best non FPS game on the xbox for replay ability.
Bonus - There is no true bonus in this game, but the sheer amount of fun this game brings is enough to qualify in itself.
