I remember seeing this game when it came out, and trying the demo of it at my local Wal-Mart which compleatly amazed me (note this was before I actually OWNED a GameCube). Mario has gone through many looks and changes, from his original 8-Bit form to his brand-new full 3-D appearence. When I fianly receved my own GameCube, I questioned everyone I could to see if this game would be worth buying, after seeing some low reviews for it at some web-sites.
Almost EVERYONE I talked to said it was a major flop, and nintendo was trying to make a message about keeping the earth clean.
I was stunned, this is Mario we are talking about, the rular of all videogames and mascots. I had no idea what to do. Months went by, and I forgot all about it. About a month ago I was searching through my local Wal-Mart searching for some new somthing for my GameCube. I come accross the game and found it well lowerd in price, with a "Gamer's Choice" sticker stamped on it. I hastly bought it and popped it into my GameCube. To sum the story up, I found Super Mario Sunshine to be the exact game I was looking for.
With clean cut, colorful 3-D graphics and all your favorite Mario Stars crammed into one game, I couldent see why this was a miss to most people. With Mario's new FLUDD backpack, you can clean up the mysterous muck that has defaced Isle Delfino with ease, making it the highlighted and best part of the game. After you show off your good deeds, you recieve Shine Sprites, which help restore the Isle bask to its original state. The music is great, giving you a nice tropical feeling. The learing curve in Mario Sunshine isn't too hard, it takes a few moments to master the controls, but not too long.
Another good highlight of the game is how cool it is to see the warm sun in the game, while dousing everything in cool water (which give you a nice feeling). I highly reccomend this game to everyone, its a must have for the GameCube!
