When I first saw the screenshots of Viewtiful Joe, I was puzzled. Why would Nintendo release a side-scrolling super-hero game, when the GameCube's capibilitys were further advanced, and could proccess the game in as full 3-D enviroment. Almost like Nintendo was taking a step back. Around the begining of summer, I found the new GameCube preview disk with a demo of Viewtiful Joe on it. As I began to play, I found that the game was NOT a solid 2-D game, but a full cel-shaded/3-D beat 'em up that entertained me for hours. Seeing that this game would be released in the fall, I waited all summer for its release. When it FIANLY was put up on the shelves at game retailers, I hastly bought it. To sum up the game, you play as Joe, an average guy who girlfriend is kidnapped, and sucked into a movie. Joe is taken too, and learns the ways of becoming a hero so you can get her. the controlls in the game are perfect, obaying my every move and command. With each "Viewtiful" battle, you get ranked on how well you handled it in defense, attacks, ect. After every battle, you get points which can be cashed in at the end of every level to buy new techniques, weapons, and lives. The graphics are very colorful and well done for cel-shading. Reply for this game is moderate, its semi-short, not too long, but not too short. opon playing it agin, you can unlock many things. In Conclusion this is a must have, I highly reccomend that you get this game and find the hero in you!
