The Legend of Zelda- Majora's Mask is a very good game.  Though, this game has a few more dents and dings when compared to Zelda TOOT (for N 64 and Gamecube).  Ok, let's start.

Graphics 9.5
Very, very good.  Even today!  The frame rate (how smooth actions in the game go) is good, but when sand or snow heads in to the camera, it slows down a bit.  But otherwise, absolutely smashing.

Sound 10
I've heard a lot of music in my days of being a gamer, but Zelda (once again!) returns with high quality music.  Even CD music can't quite get this good.  The battle music fits and many of the songs played are really cool (including an almost X-Files one, just play it...).  I haven't heard the music/sound effects to be bad in any part of this game.

Control 9.8
The famous Z-Targeting comes back.  You know, in many 3D like games, the Target Lock is key.  You can "Equip" up to 3 items using the C-Buttions.  The "A" buttion controls many functions like: Speaking, lifting, throwing, etc.
When in Z-target mode, "A" controls: Side Jumping, Back flips, rolling attacks...  The "B" buttion controls your sword.  If you put a mask on these functions change, but otherwise have the same basic ability.  Take the Deku Mask, "B" allows you to shoot bubbles at your enemies, and "A" preforms a spinning attack on your foes.  "R" is also your sheild.

Game Play 7.6
Hmm, falters a little bit here.  There's a three day time limit here, and a second equals a whole minute in Link's world.  Once you get back "your precious item" you can sort of control time.  Speed it up, slow it down, and return to the first day are your options.  However, when you "Save and return to the First Day" anything you didn't put in a safe, will be gone.  Ammo for your Arrows, Bombs, Rupees, etc.  But, you do keep importaint stuff like, masks, and Bosses' tokens.  Let me make this straight: You lose ammo for your stuff, but not the ability to use them.  In other words, just collect ammo when you come back to the first day.
Wow, just Time Travel took that much, well I'm not done yet.  There's a new saving system.  You can save (by going to an Owl) without going to the First Day and not loseing your stuff but if you don't save at the Owl or return to the First Day when you turn off the Power to you N64/ the timer runs out- You revert to when you last returned to the First Day.  You see, Owl Saving is like a long Pause- The next time you access that "Pause" you are only RESUMING your adventure.  Only by returning to the first day can you really turns off the system and not worry about it.
By returing to the First day, any people you helped will have their problems back, but you keep proof of helping them the first time around.  Also, this means you can kick Bosses' butts again too!  It's even more cooler if you come back all powered up!

Now here's where I start to whine.  This game is a little repetive and a bit open ended for me.  If you don't finish a dungeon and are forced to return to the first day, the dungeon will reset.  As if you weren't even there.  You lose the keys and items you got in that dungeon too.  Even a Powered-up Link will have to solve puzzles again before he can challenge the boss over and over.
As for the open-endedness, you don't get a finger pointing you in the right direction.  Also in order to see the whole area you're in you have to buy expensive Maps from a elusive map maker.  With money you have to get out of your safe...  You see my point? The rest of the game play is good, just the repeated dungeons and the open-endedness is a bit much, that's all.

Challenge 10
You'll spend REAL days trying to find out what to do in situations of puzzles that will have you stumped.  The enemies are fairly tough too.  Especialy the Bosses (the first time through...  heh heh heh).

*OVER ALL* 8/10 Buy!  or at least rent.

Zelda fans may like this game.  But those new of the series or new to Adventures, try renting it out first then buying The Legend of Zelda- Majora's Mask, and the "N64 Memory Expansion Pack" for a total of about $35-$65 bucks.  Really, the money is worth it to me.
