Number 1 on the gamerankings site and deservedly so. Later Zelda releases, Wind Waker (GC) and Majoras Mask (N64) followed the same winning formula and while are both great games they never quite lived up to the original 3d Zelda.
The music throughout the game is superb, particularly noteworthy is the enchanting music upon entering the forest haven.
The game developers made the most of the N64 graphics resulting in a timeless game.
The level design was revolutionary transforming the much acclaimed 2d games from the gameboy and SNES into fantastic 3d worlds of adventure where the moon and sun both rise and fall affecting gameplay in a way never seen before.
The joy of growing up partway through the game just when you thought the end was nearing and then realising you were only half-way there is testament to the magnitude of this game.
This is the best game you are likely to play for years which is a strong statement given that it is already 5 years old.
