Xenosaga is a masterpiece of a game that has taken a lot of critisism namely for it's lengthy cutscenes.
So far I have played the game around 40 hours and am on the latter parts of the game.
What I like about Xenosaga is the fact that throughout the game only rarely have I had to go "lvl" up because my crew was not powerful enough.
Also there are many extra's and sidequests throughout the game in which some are just for fun and some are almost necessary for certain items with help out a ton for upcoming stages in the game.
The graphics and characters are very well done. Each character has an extremely distinct personality which twists and turns along with the story.
As stated at the beginning of this review, Xrnosaga contains alot of cutscenes which can run up to about 45 mins, granted they do allow you to save in the middle and you can skip the cutscenes at any time.
The only thing about Xenosaga that isn't top notch is the sound. The battle sequences become very bland as the same song(s) are played over and over and over.
I recommend this game to everyone from hard core RPG'ers to those who are just getting into these type of games. What you are looking at is a very complex story, with very complex characters and a turn based fighting system.
Pro's:
*The Cutscene's ROCK!!
*Great story
*Characters ooze personality
Con's:
*Music could have use a little spice.
*at points it's hard to find out where to go as paths are not pointed out for you and can blend in with the surroundings.
