Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is a great hack-n-slash game. Unlike its usual showing on the PC, BG:DA tries, to some extent, to mimic the likes of Diablo and Dungeon Siege. You play either a Sorceror, Dwarven Fighter or Archer, all of whom have special skills which you can build as you progress in the game.
The storyline is engaging and the graphics compliment the game well. The music can be a little annoying but it is tolerable in most situations.
My only grouse is that the game is awfully short. While it allows you to play at various difficulties, it is quite simply the same game but against tougher monsters. I hope that Dark Alliance 2 will pose more of a challenge, in terms of length of play.
Nevertheless, BG:DA is a great RPG. It's simple to get into and difficult to get out of.
