One of the infamous offshoots from the final fantasy line, this one focuses on everyone's favorite poultry: chocobo!
There are many modes to choose from, like storybook mode where you follow the adventure of Chocobo and Moogle via the help of Cid and a pop up book. The Grand prix mode is you general racing mode seen in just about every racing game, where you're given the option to choose your racer, and your obstacle courses through a four series tournament.
I've always been a longtime fan of Squaresoft's work so this game was a real treat for me. The characters alone are all cutely deformed versions of the same type of people in the Squaresoft universe. The game's musical score is nice as well. The gameplay is your typical go-cart racing with the edge of using magic throughout the races.
Bottom Line: One of playstation's answers towards the beloved Mario Cart series, but for Square fans this title promises to be a great way to spend time. May just be a novelty piece on the shelf, but then again it may not. It's all about the flavor.
