The Crystal Comes Back. And how. After the disappointment I suffered under the reigns of FF VIII (weak, but not all bad)this brilliant jewel was like a salve to my wounds. Playing it again, as with FF VII, has reminded me had GREAT it is. Truly a stunning visual masterpiece and unequaled on the PSX for RPG's. The battle sytem is sharp, minus the horrible redundancy of FF VIII, the graphics outstanding (and not ALL FMV's), and the plot deep and bittersweet. From the great antics and smart-ass comments from Zidane(Ooh, soft! -uttered when "accidentally" squeezing a girl's butt), to the navitey of Vivi, the story manages to capture the essence of what is best (or worst) in all of the characters. The people move, bleed, and breathe as is they were real. (metephorically and visually, if you please)The sights and sounds are vibrant and eye-catching at all times. Quite simply put, this one is a pleasure to be a part of, from roaming the streets of Alexandria as the precocious Vivi, or tear-assing through the streets of Lindblum as Zidane. Packed with stunning battles, heartfelt emotion, and near-living chararcters, the fun starts and stays. This grand four-disc monster pleases at nearly every turn. Truly the finest, most polished Final Fantasy to date.
