Outstanding visuals, great moves, and how about those swet new weapons? The game starts off big and grows with every step through uncharted territory. Now, I don't wish to offend Metroid Prime fans, but this is the way Metroid should be. Metroid on the go is a definite treat, and Super Metroid should be released on GBA out of respect for this title. The side-scrolling action, the varied and brilliant environments, and the tough bosses make this a run worthy of Metroid III on the SNES. The storyline is also far deeper than any I have encountered in the Metroid series thus far (Metroid Prime excluded, I haven't finished it)and it is a welcome addition to be sure. The 'latent abilities' way of aquiring new weapons and upgrades is innovative and makes the game progress in a more linear direction than previous titles. Newcomers and hardcore Samus Aran fans will enjoy this well built battle in immense and varied zones of ecology. Deep, difficult and gorgeous, this one will have you losing sleep.
