Being the Project Gotham Racing fan that I am, I've been looking forward to this sequel more then any other title this year. And thankfully, my expectations were met.
PGR2 takes the formula of the original and molds a much more complete title out of it. There are more cars, wider tracks, an improved Kudos system (removing the loss of points when hitting other cars and any minor scratches along walls, making life a little easier) and plenty of added extras.
The thing I've always enjoyed the most about this series is its emphasis on more then just racing. The cone and overtake challenge is proof of that. New to the series is the speed camera (replacing the original speed cone found in PGR's cone challenge), which is another neat little side challenge.
Everything just seems more complete this time around compared to the last outing. The cars themselves are just that little bit more detailed (and far more easier to unlock), and its great to test drive them in the showroom before making that vital purchase.
Overall, Project Gotham Racing 2 is an important addition to all Xbox owners collection's. But may I say this: those who are yet to purchase PGR, buy it as well as PGR2. You'll find that they both offer a different challenge from each other, and they go well together.
