When I first played this game, I was awed by its graphics and sound, but was not very impressed by the gameplay. However, after hours of playing it I became sucked into a truly outstanding adventure game. That's right I said it's an adventure game. At first glance Metroid Prime looks just like a FPS, but requires so much exploring and is filled with enough puzzling aspects that it most closely resembles an adventure game. The design of this game is very unique, almost like a Zelda game. There is basically one overworld in which you keep visiting basic sections and revisiting many places. The bosses in this game are outstanding just like the perfect controls. In order to achieve a 100% complete file, one must download every single item and enemy in the game which can get annoying. Also, the final boss fight seems to drag on forever. Samus' arsenal is very impressive and contains many original weapons. This game is not for everyone since it features a type of gameplay which some people may dislike. But, EVERY GameCube owner should try it out, because one is almost sure to love it. Metroid Prime is definitely one of the greatest games ever made and I would rate it a 9.7 out of 10.
