Dark Rift suffers greatly from a lack of originality. It doesn't even attempt to differentiate itself from previous installments in the genre. A lackluster set of modes accompanied by a limited number of moves create a wholly unsatisfying experience. Everyone knows that fighting games are meant to be played with other players. Unfortunately, the few moves found in the game tend to be either utterly weak or completely cheap. Welcome to another Mortal Kombat clone. While the graphics and controls aren't stellar, they attain an acceptable level for the period in which this was developed. Once again, unfortunately, this is the only aspect of the game that can be perceived as acceptable to any seasoned or newbie fighting game player. 5.3/10
