When I first bought this game I was a little worried to be honest that Rare would mess up the Star Fox series with the new direction they had taken. Although after playing the game I really enjoyed it.
The graphics in this game are awesome. The water looks incredible; the fur is also an awesome effect. It is the best looking platform game I have seen in quite some time. The game is also quite easy to control. The combat in the game was great too. It wasn't difficult nor was there any real strategy too it but the combat was quite cinematic and the character animations were so smooth. The environments of the game were well designed, they look polished and are fun the explore, although I have to admit lots of them were the stereotypical platform game environments (lava word, snow world, water world) even though some the stereotypical worlds were still entertaining. The puzzles are the best part of the game; there is a large variety of puzzles in this game although the "fire blast the button" puzzles got tiring fast there were enough fun and exciting plot to keep me entertained.
All in all I thought it was a great game, the graphics, environments, and the puzzles are probably its strongest points, its draw backs are, the lack of Arwing combat, and the gaming clichés. I recommend this game to anyone who is either a Star Fox fan or a fan of platform games.
