Trackmania is like it's predecessor a pure fun racer with a hell-lot of tracks and different play modes. People who liked the first installment in this series will love this one.
This is one of these games where you just hop in and get addicted from the first minute on.
My impressions:

Very good feeling for handling of the cars (used an analogue stick).

An unbelievable amount of tracks that already come with the game and additionally one can download hundreds of tracks from the internet.

A great variety of play-modes. There is the obvious racing mode where you race against the clock. A puzzle mode where you have to finish a prebuild track with a given amount of track pieces so that you will be able to drive a good time. The Platform mode, where you have to finish a tricky track with as few tries as possible. The Crazy mode, I was not able to test yet because one has first to finish the holiday cup and last but not least the ability to drive online against others.

An easy to use but complex built in track editor.

The only thing I found a little bit frustrating was that some of the later courses, especially in the Platform mode, become a little bit to diffcult.

Another thing I realized is that the game is very good playable even if you do not own a high end PC system. I played it on a PC equipped with an AMD Athlon XP 2600+, a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and 1 Gig of Ram, setting resolution to 1280x960, 2xAA, 8xAF and all other settings maxed and the game played very smooth.
