Wind Waker has you take back in the role of Link once more, but sadly not the Link of legend from Ocarina of Time. This takes place 10,000 years after. And much as changed. For one, the land is...more water than land now. The base of the world is the great ocean, littered with islands, a handful of them with towns and new races (like the bird like people who handle the mail).
In this game, you shall no longer use the Ocarina of Time, but something like it. It's the Wind Waker (makes sense), a conducter's wand that lets you command the wind to your will. This will come in handy for sailing your back sassing boat. Yes, you read correctly. Back sassing boat. Anyway, you will want to go as fast as you can in the water because there's alot to sail through, much more land than there was to walk (and ride) through in Ocarina of Time.
Even though you don't play as Link, the same feeling is there. However, with this new animation, you get to see more of Link's emotions better and understand his personality more. With Link will be Ganondorf, the dark king. However, unlike Link, he makes his return from OoT. He is now, however, a little older and wiser...and fatter. But I personally like the new look. It suits his new found wisdom.
Overall, this is the same Zelda game as before with a few new items and a new fighting system with parries and Hurricane Blade and the works. Don't be put off by the graphics, because you'll find they are better than OoT (that's right, I said it, let loose the hate mail). It works for this fantasy world and I welcome it.
