The best way I can describe Perfect Dark: Zero (PDZ) is by saying it's Halo in a lab coat and a sexy night gown underneath and the assests to fill it all out and brains to necessitate the science jacket.
PDZ puts you into the role of Jo Dark, our would be spy/heroin. PDZ is far from a run 'n gun FPS, though it does get that right when you get the urge to play Rambo instead of Bond.
You have many guns to play around with, but not all the room to use them all at once. You can only hold a few small arms and one medium gun, or two medium sized guns, or maybe just one boom-zooka. All the guns have a secondary device. I say device because unlike most games, it's just just a new way to shoot, for most anyway. Some weapons use handy little abilities to throw enemies off your guard or help you see them better, or just kill faster and/or more wide ranged.
The graphics are stunning, even on a regular tv (which I use, so I bet they're phenominal on HD.). Sound is great and really comes in handy. The AI likes to shout out orders to their comrads, so you can use that to your advantage. Speaking of AI, the AI will actually charge you when it sees you are reloading. The "No AI Left Behind" program has really educated them. Sound also is a must to hear your mission giver tell you what to do next in specifics rather than just read the objective on the screen in generalization.
Multiplayer is fantastic. I haven't had a chance to play online, yet, but so far just from bot killin', it looks fantastic. You have several game modes (Dark Ops is my favorite) to choose from to play. Standard deathmatch is there, but alos Dark Ops, where each kill you gain gets cash to your team. When the round is over, you spend the cash on new weapons and armor and maybe even a vehicle, Mr. Gates.
All in all, this is a must have launch title. Spy action, run 'n gun optional, strong multiplayer, and all in one gorgeous package. Good deal.
