Ah, Samus, Samus, Samus. When will you learn? Keep spares of your armor and weapons!!
Yes, yet again our heroin has "crash" landed on a troubled planet and is ransaked by enemies and loses her equipment, which she must again obtain *sigh*. But, that is the heart of Metroid. Getting your items back. :D
Samus finds herself, this time, on a mission from a distressed alien race. They are at war with the dark Ing, an evil little race that's working to destroy their planet. You see, the planet you land on has an opposite planet, a dark version of itself.
You'll travel finding new monsters and old monsters, scanning and shooting, jumping and collecting. Honestly if you played the first game, you'll think you're doing so again.
This game plays much like the first. So much so there's absolutly no difference in gameplay. However, in the dark world, you must make sure to stay under the protective light umbrellas, or suffer continuous damage from the dark air.
However, this game is not without its charm. The game is difficult indeed..perhaps...too much so. You'll find that in this huge enviroment, especially with a dark alternate one, it'll be hard to know where to go as you get in later in the game. You will gain hints here and there, but sometimes not to of any help, and honestly come a bit too late and not enough.
The bosses are massive and dark and fun. You'll find most, if not all, the bosses occur in the dark relm and 90% of the time hold one of your pieces of equipment.
Overall I give this game a 7/10. It could have improved so much more but instead clung too much to its predicessor and didn't jump high enough.
