Get the game and support Paradox Entertainment if you want the only company who develops historical simulation/strategy games like this (Europa Universalis 1/2, Hearts of Iron, Victoria). Two Thrones is the sequel to Crown of the North, a more advanced game built on CotN engine. Yes, it is not as complex as Paradox's major titles like EU, but like CotN, it is supposed to be that way. It is meant to be a "beer-and-pretzels" game, one to get you into history without overwhelming the player. Thus, it is only $20, less than half the cost of new games these days. C'mon, that is nothing. See Two Thrones as the stepping stone (and support to the developers) to the big award-winning games like Europa Universalis.
Paradox Entertainment is one of the most devoted developers out there. Their post-release support of their games is exemplary. Currently, after almost two years-and-a-half of releasing EU2, the developer is still releasing feature/gameplay patches tailored for players' enjoyment. Unlike other companies, the developers put much love and care into their games and truly like playing them.
