First I would like to tell you that Iīm no fan of horror-games. I played the Resident Evil-games and didnīt like them too much, though I was quite pleased with Silent Hill one & two.
This game is different from the ones above. The Thing (the game) is more of a shooter/war-game but the enemy is aliens. You just blast a lot of rounds at them and after half the game you even meet real soldiers you have to fire your heart out at.
The graphics are not that fun and the landscape with a lot of snow isnīt that amusing in the long run. The people look square and the aliens ugly. :)
The sounds are ok.
The gameplay is not.
Two big complaints. After half the game (somewhere around where the soldiers appear) the level of difficulty increase a lot. The system of trust and distrust to keep your team together, sounds nice, but in reality itīs just boring. You give them weapons, they follow you and still turn in to aliens and I didnīt figure out how to stop it from happening.
So, I give this game a poor ok, a number 4. Itīs neither a blood-icing horror-game or a good shoot-em-up. Itīs just a nearly decent game.
