Squaresoft has done it again! They team up with an unlikely parter like Disney, but they still manage to make a great adventure-game.
The story is good but complicated. I wonīt tell you to much of it, but you play a character (a Final Fantasy-animated one) called Sora. The bad guys of Disney called the Heartless tries to take over the worlds by kidnapping seven princesses and unlock some keyholes in each world. Your task is to stop them.
Of course you get company on your travels. The great Donald Duck and Goofy are your constant companions but you also get help from local characters. I love Donald and his angry shouts in battles, heīs also the character with most personality in my opinion.
This game is really hard, and you will have to spend at least 30 hours in the Squaresoft/Disney universe, in that sense itīs more like an FF-game than a childs game.
One thing I like is the fighting mode. It differs from Squaresofts usual fighting with turns and line-ups. In this game itīs real-time battles in three dimensions. Ok, sometimes you get killed because youīre to slow with your Cure-magic or items, but the action is much more intense.
One thing you can complain about is the camera-controls. Sometimes itīs just to difficult to predict were you land when jumping on platforms. Itīs a problem that many platform-based games suffer from, but this one is not the worst.
The graphics is some of the best Iīve seen on the PS2 and the music is magical.
I give this game an 8. If youīre a fan of the Final Fantasy-serie and Squaresoft, you must check this out. Itīs a quality game from begining to end.
