Weīre back in the Forgotten Realms, the world where the town Baldurīs Gate is situated.
This time there are more characters to choose from, more smaller missions and more types of upgrading. Now you even level-up your weapons and armor.
The story is you are an adventurer who wants to free the country from an evil vampire that have taken over the Onyx tower and find out what happened to the former adventurers from the first game. Just hack-and-slash your way!
I think that this game has tried to improve by adding quantity but time has caught up with this genre on PS2 as well.
The graphics are good, only a little better than the previous game.
The sound as well: good but no big improvment.
One thing I feel is a downer is the voice-acting, which I remember as a little better in the first game.
Another thing I miss is the free-roaming or at least the feeling of freedom. Itīs a very linear hack-n-slash for about 15 hour from start to finish. I didnīt get the feeling, the characters were so different that I should want to spend 75 hours to get to know them all.
To sum it up, this is a better game with more choices than in the first Baldurīs Gate on PS2, but Black Isle are not alone anymore.
This game doesnīt support online-play and I havenīt tried it with a friend, so keep that in mind.
With Champions of Norrath on the consoles and Blizzards World of Warcraft ruling on PC, itīs starting to get crowded on the throne.
