Snake goes James Bond in cold war Russia!

I am a bit indecisive about the Metal Gear Solid-serie! I loved MGS on Playstation but was disappointed when MGS2 came to PS2. The game was very technically advanced and all, but I found it confusing with a change of character in the middle, too many clips that played too long and the shrewd story with virtual controls that went beserk in the later part.
MGS3 is a step back, in the right direction. It still has a lot of movie-clips in it, it takes about 20 hours to finish but it feels like you watch the game half the time. In the first three hours I only controlled Snake for 30 minutes!

The graphics and the sound is amazing (especially in my newly bought surround-system) and the gameplay, when you get to play is followsome and smooth.
Some new things has been inserted by Hideo Kojima and his crew.
The camouflage is a neat thing.
The "eating the forest findings for energy" works fine, but I think that the need for cure, and that quite often, is a bit much on top of that.
Many has complained about the camera, I found it alright though, it was more of developing a habit of going into first-person-view often. The game also has a beautiful graphical texture that you see when you zoom in or out (which you do plenty of).

I liked the old "agent/spy" feeling in the game. The Bond-inspired musical theme and the nostalgic cold war nuclear threat from the east with a twist! All the boss-fights are interesting and clever, except for one that I found a bit strange (against The Sorrow, a ghost you meet. You´ll see).

If you´re a fan of MGS you´ll need to check this out. It´s back to basics but with a lovely "jungle"-walk, a more straight story that reveals some of Snakes past and still has that Metal Gear plot with crazy mercenaries that want to change the world!
If you´re not a fan you still want to see how well the PS2 handles the beautiful graphics on this consoles autumn (figuratively speaking).

If you prepare yourself for a lot of CG-movies, pop some popcorn and wipe of your fingers when the playing with Snake begins, you will have a good time. Snake´s back, he´s young and he´s hungry!
