I love the Mario kart series. It is definitely my favorite group of racing games. While the Mario Kart series still hasn't grown too much, it is still as fun and addicting as it has ever been.
Graphics: This title looks great. It definitely does not look as good as some of the other Gamecube games, but the graphics suit the game well.
Sound: Nice sound effects, but the characters sayings get so annoying.
Story: There isn't one
Gameplay: This game plays perfectly. Switching characters is a breeze. The fact that you have to choose two characters and a kart adds a lot of strategy. The power slide now requires you to hold down the R or L button while moving the control stick back and forth. This feels a little weird at first but you get used to it.
Replay: Double Dash does get older faster than the other Mario Kart games since it is not that much different from the other games in the series. The unlockables add some value but since there are only two single player modes you will have to get most of your value out of the multiplayer modes.
Overall: Mario kart Double Dash is another great entry into the series. If they had just put in one more single player mode this game would have been so much better. The new multiplayer modes are pretty good, but the stages were a little too small.
So lets see there are a bunch of characters and karts to choose from, only sixteen tracks, but there is a mirror mode, a co-op mode, and other great multiplayer modes. Mario Kart just doesn't get much better than this.
