This game is, by far, the best shooter I've ever played. First because it was the first game I played over my new 3.4ghz Pentium 4 with an XL 700 ATI graphic card. I was blown out by the graphics. The sun flare, the city and....the water. Wow.
Then I began to see that everything in this world is manipulable. EVERYTHING. The mere possibility are incredible. You can think of so many differents ways of getting out of a situations and for the very first time in a game, you are able to do what you could really do in the real world. How many time in a game was I frustrated because I was oblige to resolve a situation as per what the game designer intended to do while if this situation happened in the real world I would have done it differently. Well in Half Life 2 you can.
The sounds are wonderfull. In Revenholms you really get creepy sounds (the girls that screems from time to time). The Buggy engine, the water...everything sounds as it should be and I only listen to it in my earphone.
Some section of the game are kind of boring (sand trap) but overall the game keeps a good pace. The Gravity gun is the most innovative weapon ever created and it open so many possibility that you wonder why nobody thought of it before.
In conclusion, I will remember this game for a long time and while my 3.4ghz is the best computer in the market, I'll show this game to my friend to show all the possibilties of PC computer game.
