Three words can accurately describe this game: (1) Breathtaking, (2) Gorgeous and (3) Addictive. Although the GameCube was the last receive this title, UbiSoft came through in a major way. They have just about proved that a third party can publish a multi-console title that is polished as well as refined. Surprisingly, this is the 2nd time this year that a 3rd party publisher has managed to pull that off (the first being Namco with Soul Calibur II).
The gameplay is rather simple and the controls are highly intuitive. Once you get into the storyline it becomes quite entertaining. This is easily the best looking game to date. The water effects alone (the water looks real, folks!!!) make this game stand out but when you combine that with the rest of the game's presentation - it surpasses the Wind Waker in just about every way. (A lot of people have made comparision's between BG&E and LOZ:TWW).
Beyond Good & Evil is better than I ever expected and if you are thinking of buying it, I would highly recommend it.
