I really liked the first Budokai, so when I heard the second one was coming, I was really excited. The game fulfilled my expectations, but by far, din't blow me away. The single player mode is pretty dull, with the strategic board game-like system. The battle system is still pretty simplistic, even though you can now dodge energy blasts. Still, every chacter basically has the same attacks, just with a differrent name. Most of the characters have one regular ppppe attack, some throws, a rotate the analog move, a random game of guessing buttons against the oponent, and a rotate the analog against the opponent, which I call a struggle. Still, I like the fact that now up to eight people can now play in the tournament mode, and the fact that there are more fusions. However, in my opinion, this is still a game meant to be rented, not bought.
7/10
