As this game keeps getting positive reviews and being described as an underrated miracle, I would like to post something as someone who, actually, did not enjoy it at all.
The whole game feels like a platformer for kids, but it does not retain the friendliness of such titles, instead presenting the player with a rather sinister plot and foreboding environments. I hated controlling this nice little heroine straight out of a cartoon, and being plunged in such dark, hostile locations. It made me feel weak, helpless, and silly (give me Riddick back!)
Besides, this is a console port. While the controls don't work too horridly, the legacy is definitely perceptible in terms of gameplay. If you're not into platforming, you won't find much to like in this one.
The graphics are also very Playstation 2 - which is fine on a Playstation 2, but less so on a PC. The textures are bland, and in spite of the obvious polish the visual presentation is lackluster.
My main point is: if you're not into cute console games with pigs that speak and Rasta rhinos, I don't think Beyond Good & Evil can make you happy. And if you like'em cute, beware of this one; the melancholy setting and disquieting environments may not be your cup of tea.
