I was really looking forward to an RTS game that only focuses on World War II. So when I saw Axis & Allies I had to get the game however, it wasn't what I had hoped for it to be. There was only one thing that messed this game up and that has to do with the gameplay, and it effects the replay value as well. Before, I talk about that I would like to say that the storyline is very well written; it focuses on WWII very well and in great detail. So I have to give to this game for having a good storyline. Now as far as the gameplay goes, that's a different story. The gameplay is great, its only problem in the resource gathering system, which in my opinion is horrible. I disliked it from the start. If the resource gathering system were better then this would be the perfect RTS game. The game lacks the resource gathering system and therefore does have as good gameplay and the replay value is lower. The replay value is lowered because with the resource gathering system being horrible it takes the fun out of this game and therefore you don't want to play it as much. The graphics are on point, with the right settings, however without the right setting there not as well but that all depends on your computer. The sound effects are excellent. I think this RTS game has one the best sound effects that any RTS game has up to date. The reason I am giving this game such a low score because of only one mistake is because the resource gathering system is very important in an RTS game. All in all this is a great RTS game but it needs a better resource gathering system and it would be perfect. I recommend this game to RTS fans just do not get all hyped up for it.
