Ever since the days of Super Mario Kart this kart driving franchise has been a powerhouse to the racing genre. This time its new gimmick is to use two players at once. Will this sequel live up to the rest of its games?

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are good but by no means revolutionary or amazing. It seems the Mario games are all shooting for the cartoony look now. Oh well. Textures are well done and some of the characters look nice and shiny.
Control: 9/10
Controls are perfect and switching characters can be done on the fly (literally). I wish the L and R buttons had a bit more sharp turn-ness in them like Mario Kart 64 but other than that, the gamecube controller handles everything
perfect.
Gameplay: 8/10
Well this is the most important part of every game and Double Dash does well here too. The new control two characters at once gimmick is a nice addition but after the initial surprise of using two at once it just feels like your using one. Lots of unlockables (which I personally like in games)to be found after getting a gold trophy in a certain grand prix and two player mode is a lot of fun as well. Kind of weird that both players have to press Z at the same time to switch even though its probably better then having someone switch when they're not supposed to leading to one friend beating on the other friend who wanted to lose on purpose to anger his friend.
Replayability: 1p - 6/10 2/p -9/10
I put 2 scores above if anyone noticed 1p meaning one player and 2p meaning with a friend. Now if your playing by yourself most of the time after your done collecting everything, you will see that there just aren't that many tracks, which can lead to you putting this game down for months. However if you're a party person and usually play with your pals then this game will last a long time.
