An innovative game, Culdcept combines elements of Collectable Card Games (CCG) and Monopoly! Your main goal is, at a throw of a dice, move across a gaming board and using spells, equipment and creatures get enough mana to reach the goal amount and be the first one to reach the castle with it.
If you cast a creature on a land with a matching element it gets an attack and defence boost equal to the lands level. Players may increase and decrease land levels using spells and mana. The higher the lands level the higher the penalty if an opponent lands on it and loses the battle. There are also special lands such as the castle and tower checkpoints (equal to go in Monopoly), temples (similar to chance and community chest), and prophets where you can choose to randomly take a card of the chosen type from your 50 card deck.
There is nothing spectacular in the sound and graphics department of this game but it is very adequate for a CCG especially during battles. All in all, the CCG element of collecting cards makes this game addictive and challenging, though the dice throws feels like its in favour of the AI.
