Being the Square fan that I am, when I heard about this game being announced, of course I had to check it out. Here's how I felt:
Graphics: They are pretty good for a car racing game, however, GT3 they are not. Some of the cars seem a bit oddly shaped, but overall, they are pretty good. Nice eye candy at least.
Gameplay: Your typical racer. Has all the modes of most racing games. The game does get old more quickly than other racers though, but for the time that you play it, it's pretty fun. Just gets too repetative. Not very many courses, and not very many cars. So upgrading just doesn't feel as fun.
Sound: The SFX are good. They sound like cars, but as to sounding like the actualy car that you are drving? I don't know about that one. The music is pretty good also.
Controls: Another pickup-and-play type of game. But that's how racers should be. Not confusing controls here.
Replayability: It has it, but it's short lived. I only rented the game, and played it for 4 out of the 5 days I had it. If I owned, I would probably play it more, but it's just nothing groundbreaking. Just a simple racer with few aspects of GT games.
Overall: I don't think it is worth a buy, unless you can find it for really cheap (under $20). Other than that, it's a good rental for racing fans. Even though I am a Square fan, I wouldn't recommend it to any other ones. It's nothing spectacular like their RPG's.
