Pikmin was one of the 3 games I got when I first bought my Gamecube.  I got it, knowing only that it was an RTS type game with little creatures, and that it was made by Miyamoto (which, then, I knew it would at least be a decent game).  Well, what I didn't know, is how addicted I would eventually get to this game, and that I would play it for the next 2 years.  Pikmin is one of the games that is a stress reliever, and you can actually feel for the little guys.  Anyway, here is what I think of the game:

Gameplay: Pikmin has awesome gameplay.  You have 30 days (each day about 15-20 minutes long, roughly) to gather 30 ship parts that have gone missing since you, Captain Olimar, have crash landed on this strange planet that the Pikmin inhabit.  What you do is "grow" Pikmin by gather pellets of each Pikmin's color, and having the Pikmin bring them back to an "onion," which is the machine that produces all of the Pikmin.  It may sound dumb, I know, but trust me...this game is awesome.  It's an RTS type game that works flawlessly on a controller.  Can't get much better than that.

Graphics: The graphics aren't anything THAT amazing, but they are great.  The land is very detailed, however, the Pikmin are very plain.  But, there is NOTHING wrong with that.  This game has the perfect look and graphics for the type of game this is.  They couldn't have done a better job.

Replayability: Yes, this game is short.  However, replay is a HUGE issue in this game.  Once you beat Pikmin, you will want to play it again, and once you beat it a second time, you will want to beat it again, and so on.  Plus, after a while, you will open up a Challenge Mode, that tests how many Pikmin you can grow in a certain time limit.  It's really fun.  This game, to me, has pretty much endless gameplay, since I play it about once a month.  It is one of those few games that I replay over and over.

Overall: This game is AWESOME.  I recommend that anyone who has a Gamecube to "pik" this one up.  It is dirt cheap now, at around $15.  Very worth.  Miyamoto is genus.
