I cannot express how much I really love this game. As a fan of Xenogears, I had to get this game. I was sceptical about it at first, with hearing about the hours of cinematics, but after I tried it, I got addicted. Yes, there are a lot of cinematics (and when they say hours of them, they aren't kidding...), for that is the way the story is told. There is one thing though, none of them will let you down. I never felt bored while watching any of these movies. They range from semi-short to, I think the longest one I rememeber, was about an hour and a half long. But if you are a fan of Xenogears, this game is almost the same. The battle system is very similar, so it shouldn't take long to figure out. The story is amazing too. It isn't very complex, so it won't confuse most. The graphics are amazing, some of the best I've ever seen. But there is one flaw in this game. The gears, or A.G.W.S.'s as they call them. They are very customizable, but it the useful field, they lack. You rarely have to use them. I guess that's why they made this a "saga" rather than a "gears." Anyway, I'd say that most who haven't played Xenogears should give this game a try. It's a solid RPG that has originality flowing out of it, but if you've played Xenogears, I'd give this game a buy. You will like it, just don't expect it to be better. It's good, but not better. Now, all I have left to do is sit back and wait for Episode 2...and most likely play this another time through.
