Brilliant, totally brilliant. Nintendo has done it again. Metroid, my personal favorite series, has yet another awesome game to add to the series...sort of. Metroid: Zero Mission is a remade version of the original Metroid, except it seems as though Samus is telling the story of it, based from the text when you first start the game. ("Here are the accounts of my first mission...my so called Zero Mission." -Samus) Here is the overall take I got of the game.
Graphics: Definatly a step up from the original Metroid game. The graphics are very smooth, and even look better than Fusion's. The backgrounds are nice, now that they have them. Plus, all the ways the weapons' shots look are cooler too. Plus, Samus' and the enemies' character models also look better.
Gameplay: If you've played Fusion, Super Metroid, Metroid II, or the original, then you know how this one goes. Travel through one of the many worlds, this time being Zebes. You run around, shoot enemies, collect upgrades, and fight cool and sometimes challenging bosses. Addictive and totally fun...just like all Metroid games.
Controls: Simple and easy. Pick up and play. Same as Fusion's controls.
Story: The same as the original story, except adds in new plot for the reasons as to why Metroid Prime happens. Samus arrives on Zebes, only to find it infected and such. Just play it, you'll see.
Replayability: This game added in Easy, Normal, and Hard mode. So, that's at least 3 times for me. Then, there is also beating the game under/over a certain time limit, to see one of three endings, and then there is always getting 100% completion. To sum it up, this game has tons of replay value.
Overall: With the fun factor of the original, and newly added areas and plot, this game is just as perfect as the original. And if you haven't even played the original, the this is a good time too. Plus, once you beat the game for the first time...the original becomes unlocked in the options menu!!! However, the only drawback (and it isn't much of one to affect the score at all) is that the difficulty, no matter which one you play on, will always be easier than the orginal. They added in Chozo statues that refill health and weapons (sort of like the Recharge Stations in Fusion) and they are very often. So dying isn't a poroblem...except on some bosses.
